Stayed home the whole weekend, watching the Olympics and the closing ceremony at this very moment.  Also sat down at the very same spot on the sofa, watching all the new TVB series.  I am such a fat, lazy couch potato.

Went for the Shape Run today.  Did not do too well and somehow either hurt or sprained the soles of my foot and walking with a slight limp now.

This something really darn funny on Usain Bolt.  Just some lame Olympic spoof video now that the hype is all over!

I could not stop eating chicken wings in Singapore.  They don’t taste exceptionally better than from KL, but I had them almost every night it’s S-C-A-R-Y.  I think I may get an overdose of chicken hormones.

NOTE: For those who has been pretty ‘close mates’ with Kev, now is probably the time to try your luck and request for those things you’ve longed for………..HA HA

So cherish what you have today.  Especially the friends who have been with you through thick and thin.  Over these few months, I’ve come to realize the brutal truth about friends who are classified as toxic.  And in my dictionary, they are only three types of people that fit this category:

1) Claim to be your friends.  The chinese saying goes ‘有福同享，有难同当’ (got wealth together -gether share, got hardship together -gether get through it.  But when you’re really in need of their support, all they can do is go on and on about their so called glamourous love lives or whine about the puniest things on earth.  Their attention spent on your problem is a mere 5 minutes and the balance 55 on themselves.

2) Constantly degrade, diminish ur ego and self confidence by CONSTANTLY and I really do mean constantly tell you stuff like ‘Eh, if you put on a bit more weight, you can be called FAT already?!?’  As if life isn’t already bad enough as it is.  Yeah, rub it in!!!!

3) And the final group who probably think they are your ‘teachers’.  Sometimes, what you need is a friend to just lend a listening ear and not a lecturer.  Not one who tells you what they think is best -irregardless if that could be the sad truth.  They normally start with I THINK.. or YOU SHOULD and insist their I THINK and YOU SHOULD are the best advice you can get and expect you to follow it.

    

 

But I’ve religiously followed the swimming events for the past couple of days……

and ‘marine boy’ Park Tae Hwan from South Korea is not only amazing and sensational as a 19 year old swimmer but also awfully hot!!!!!!!  He finished in 3 minutes, 41.86 seconds in the men’s 400m freestyle to win the Gold medal

Haha, I think I’m a wee bit too old to be idolizing some 19 yr old sensation.  I feel like a sugar mama!!

But nevertheless… he has done Korea very proud!!!

P/S: See Cheshire Cat, if in those days you would have just focused more on your swimming, you may have acheived idol status in the eyes of many screaming Hong Kong girls!!!!

Friday

Went for yoga dance class in Yogazone with Deepak at 6pm.  Learnt some Bollywood dance.  Good fun!  Great way to get my mind off the misery of 08/08/08.  Looking forward to 09/09/09.  The perfect day will come!

Waited for the 8pm Beijing Olympics 2008 official opening.  A capital SPECTACULAR.

Saturday

Shopping for mama’s birthday present at Mid Valley.  Had an early night.  Preparing for the next day’s 10km Adidas 2008 King of the Road Run in Shah Alam. 

Sunday

Forced myself up at 5.45 am.  Drove to Shah Alam with dad.  Got lost on the way.  Unable to locate my running buddy, Hooi Sian.  Started off the race alone at 7.10 am.  Somehow she managed to catch up with me and sped off leaving to me complete the race!!!!! Hoo hoo….first 200 in my category get a finisher medal.

1pm – Mama’s Birthday Lunch at Oriels, Bangsar Village 2.  Honoured guests include:- the other half of mama (i.e. Papa), anttyk, C.Lengus,  Horse, Mr and Mrs Bouncer HT Yap and myself.  Mama does not want to disclose her age…hence only 2 BIG candles. 

I asked mama why it takes two to cut her birthday cake.  Oh apparently they’re practicing for the cut cutting ceremony during their wedding How Sweet!!

I don’t know why ‘Papa’ looks more excited to look inside mama’s birthday present?!?

But then again, who can blame him when it’s La Senza??

Also met up with an old friend for dinner.  She taught me the meaning of ‘forgiving’.  When do you really forgive someone? It’s when someone has wronged you in the past, yet you no longer feel angry.  You pray for his well being all the time and not only at times when you feel like it.. and you sincerely wish the best things in life for him and is truly happy for that. 

Upcoming event:  Ooh…another thing to look forward to!  Over lunch we discussed the possibility of having a Haloween party at anttyk’s house with lots and lots of booze amongst some ex colleagues and old friends.  Such a pity so many of them are not working in Malaysia.  Suggestions poured in!!

Originally mama wanted a party on the Chinese 7th Month 14 day in conjunction with the Ghost Festival cause she couldn’t wait until Haloween…I ain’t that GAME!!!!  I don’t want to be drinking and going home from the party already looking like a ghost and really seeing one at the back of my car seat!!!!

I don’t think I need to dress up as anything.  I look scary enough..

This is my second blog post today because they say laughter is the best medicine for an utterly depressing day…..and this definitely helps and I believe I should share it with those who can read Chinese.

Virginia sent this to me.  Because I could not open the Apple daily website for the article, she copied the whole article for me…….too bad I can’t open to see the pictures, it may have been hilarious. 

To summarize, it basically speaks of a man in Hong Kong, trying to masturbate while ‘gymming’ in the public park and gets his ‘little brother’ stuck in one of those gym equipment with holes (about 1 inch diameter??).  It took 4 hrs, doctors, firemen, reporters….bla bla bla before his whole ordeal was over.

現 場 為 觀 塘 碧 雲 道 藍 田 公 園 山 頂 ， 須 步 行 200 級 樓 梯 到 達 ， 公 園 24 小 時 開 放 ， 園 內 有 一 個 仰 起 坐 設 施 的 健 體 器 材 ， 由 四 條 鐵 柱 緊 扣 一 塊 3 呎 闊 、 8 呎 長 的 鐵 板 ， 作 25 度 角 度 傾 斜 ， 鐵 板 上 滿 佈 約 一 吋 直 徑 的 圓 孔 。 該 設 施 可 讓 用 家 作 仰 或 俯 伏 動 作 ， 做 出 仰 起 坐 、 掌 上 壓 及 仰 抱 膝 左 右 轉 動 的 收 腹 運 動 。
前 晚 11 時 43 分 ， 辛 到 公 園 山 頂 做 運 動 健 身 ， 有 人 聲 稱 玩 仰 起 坐 sit up ， 卻 俯 伏 在 鐵 板 上 背 向 天 做 出 另 類 掌 上 壓 ， 先 將 三 個 骨 褲 褪 到 大 腿 間 ， 將 陽 具 插 入 其 中 一 個 圓 孔 磨 擦 自 瀆 。 其 後 陽 具 充 血 脹 大 ， 有 人 欲 抽 身 之 際 ， 始 驚 覺 陽 具 卡 在 孔 內 無 法 拔 出 ， 經 歷 男 人 最 痛 之 時 刻 ， 無 奈 自 行 報 警 求 助 。
因 現 場 位 置 較 偏 僻 ， 當 局 只 能 派 出 小 型 消 防 車 連 同 救 護 車 到 場 ， 救 援 人 員 再 須 步 行 200 級 樓 梯 ， 約 半 小 時 後 始 到 達 山 頂 。
當 時 辛 痛 苦 呻 吟 ， 不 斷 啊 啊 呼 痛 ， 他 自 稱 玩 sit up 意 外 受 傷 ， 乍 見 記 者 在 場 採 訪 ， 大 叫 ： 「 唔 好 咁 樣 對 我 啦 ！ 」 又 向 消 防 員 懇 求 ： 「 如 果 我 暈 ， 千 祈 唔 好 俾 佢 影 到 我 ！ 」 消 防 識 做 地 用 紅 氈 將 辛 包 ， 又 撐 開 雨 傘 擋 住 鐵 板 下 的 「 風 光 」 。
擾 攘 10 多 分 鐘 後 消 防 見 無 計 可 施 ， 惟 有 急 召 附 近 聯 合 醫 院 兩 名 男 醫 生 到 場 解 困 ， 只 見 醫 生 捐 入 鐵 板 下 ， 為 辛 打 麻 醉 針 及 用 針 筒 將 充 血 陽 具 放 血 ， 辛 仍 痛 得 哀 叫 。 消 防 及 救 護 員 則 按 辛 ， 又 用 繩 將 他 固 定 在 鐵 板 上 ， 以 免 他 痛 極 碰 撞 傷 上 加 傷 。 約 20 分 鐘 後 ， 醫 生 無 奈 表 示 ： 「 你 度 腫 得 滯 ， 淨 係 抽 血 都 出 唔 到 ， 要 去 醫 院 ， 去 到 醫 院 我 幫 你 搞 啦 ！ 」 在 場 人 員 則 竊 竊 私 語 說 ： 「 都 唔 知 係 唔 係 食 春 藥 。 」

至 昨 凌 晨 1 時 ， 約 八 、 九 名 消 防 員 用 小 電 鋸 鋸 去 四 條 鐵 柱 扣 後 ， 連 人 帶 鐵 板 將 辛 抬 落 山 ， 再 抬 上 救 護 車 送 聯 合 醫 院 急 救 ， 公 園 現 場 遺 下 一 大 灘 血 、 一 對 拖 鞋 及 水 樽 。 直 至 凌 晨 3 時 許 ， 人 板 最 終 脫 離 ， 辛 由 急 症 室 推 出 ， 在 外 科 病 房 留 醫 八 小 時 ， 至 昨 早 11 時 許 無 礙 出 院 。
康 文 署 發 言 人 回 應 稱 ， 有 關 的 仰 起 坐 板 是 由 美 國 生 產 商 按 照 美 國 標 準 ASTM F1487 生 產 ， 符 合 安 全 標 準 。 該 設 施 主 要 是 金 屬 製 造 ， 外 層 塗 上 一 層 PVC 保 護 膜 ， 板 上 的 圓 孔 是 為 疏 水 之 用 ， 避 免 雨 水 積 聚 板 上 。 發 言 人 又 謂 ， 現 時 全 港 有 18 個 公 園 設 有 該 套 健 體 設 施 ， 即 共 18 套 ， 就 今 次 意 外 ， 該 署 已 通 知 有 關 設 施 的 本 港 代 理 商 。
